Many older adults in Metro Atlanta want to stay connected, independent, and informed — but technology has become a barrier. This year, Group Home Alliance launched AI for Seniors, a hands-on learning initiative designed to help aging adults confidently use the digital tools they depend on every day.

During our first sessions, seniors learned how to:

  • Navigate their smartphones

  • Use voice assistants like Siri and Google

  • Access telehealth and patient portals

  • Receive appointment reminders

  • Use translation and reading tools

  • Stay safer online

  • Apply for benefits and resources with guided support

These small skills create big impacts. Seniors shared that they felt more confident calling family, checking lab results, communicating with doctors, and staying organized using simple AI tools.

Why This Matters

Digital literacy is directly tied to independence.Without support, seniors can be shut out of:

  • Healthcare access

  • Transportation services

  • Housing applications

  • Benefits renewals

  • Online banking and bill pay

  • Community information and safety alerts

AI for Seniors helps older adults stay connected, capable, and empowered — not left behind.

What’s Next

Group Home Alliance will host ongoing sessions throughout 2025 in:

  • Riverdale

  • College Park

  • Atlanta

  • Decatur

These workshops will be free for seniors and supported by volunteers, community partners, and future funders.
